Community reference group

Introduction
The Community Reference Group (CRG) has been established as a first point of contact to provide community views to the research partners. Group members have been appointed as individuals to bring a range of views to discussions, they are not expected to act as "representatives" for any one group.
The CRG comprises the following people: Edwin Newport, Jan Boyd (Langford), Guthrie Beatson, Lloyd Faulkner, Alastair Webber, Mick Park, Elizabeth Martin, and Geoff Rowling.
The CRG meets regularly (about every 2-3 months) and the minutes of each meeting are available. A copy of the CRG terms of reference is also available.
Any member of the public who wishes to raise any issue regarding the ICM Motueka project may contact any of the CRG or any of the researchers.
Research Approach
Facilitated meetings between the scientists in the programme and the catchment residents are the primary approach used. Involvement in the ICM annual general meeting is also encouraged. Meetings are designed around a collaborative learning approach where two-way flow of information occurs and emerging issues are discussed in an open dialogue forum.
Research Results
A range of issues are discussed at each meeting and the CRG input and involvement has been pivotal in a number of on-going and developing projects.
