These Guidelines have been prepared to assist in integrating cultural strategies more closely with council’s broader priorities and objectives. They show how cultural planning can give better insights into the values and spirations of a community. At its best effective cultural planning ensures that everything we understand by “culture” in the broadest sense can form part of the fabric of local government decision-making and the community’s expectations.
